DkProject is formed by Marcos Navarro and Rafael Méndez, two entrepreneurs and engineering students involved in a solidarity project.

The main objective of these young people is to participate and finish the eleventh edition of UniRaid. A project that conquered them for its solidarity activity and its relationship with the automotive world.

The objectives they want to achieve in DKProject are:

  • Get your Volkswagen Polo Classic II car ready in time with the necessary modifications and equipment to participate in UniRaid.
  • Collect at least 40 kg of solidarity material to participate.
  • Achieve high visibility on Instagram to serve as a reference for university peers.

What does the UniRaid Solidarity Project consist of?

UniRaid is a great human, sporting and solidarity adventure for students, a 9-day raid through Morocco in cars over 20 years old that takes place in the month of October doing about 2,500 km. Participants must complete 6 stages navigating with a roadbook, and overcoming all kinds of obstacles, challenges and tests, with the aim of crossing Morocco from north to south and delivering 40kg of solidarity material in the desert villages.

In UniRaid the important thing is not the speed but the goal. Overcoming the race means first and foremost reaching the finish line, and to achieve this, participants must discover the value of mutual support and teamwork. In addition to overcoming the challenges they will face in each stage.

Strategy, collaboration, effort, ingenuity and perseverance are some of the characteristics that a good participant should have. Uniraid is a unique experience in African lands; an exceptional challenge that fills you with satisfaction and helps you get to know new points of view and new people.

Interview with DkProject, participants of Uniraid Solidarity Project

How did you meet and how did you get to know the project?

We know each other through common friends since high school, then we coincided in the same career and that united us to the present. We met the project through the university, one day walking through the faculty we found a Renault 5 full of stickers and it caught our attention. We started to investigate about the car and we discovered the Uniraid project, we talked to the owners of that car, other colleagues from the faculty and they made us curious about this adventure.

What motivated you to participate in the project?

Our passion for automobiles and cars combined with a solidarity project won us over.

Why did you choose a Volkswagen Polo, how did you get it?

After months of searching on Wallapop we found our Polito. It was located in the province of Cadiz, and when we told the owner about the project, he almost gave us the car as a gift.

What is the biggest challenge you are facing with the project?

Our polito is a 30 year old car that needs a lot of work to get it ready, we are encountering many unforeseen events every day. But with patience and the help of our sponsors it is gradually taking shape.

How do you manage the collection of solidarity material?

The collection of material has been a success, we have found a lot of help from neighbors, acquaintances, sponsors ... We got school supplies, toys, clothes, books, laptops ... .... All this we will carry in the car until the start of the test, this limits us to carry more or less material, so we have added a roof rack to carry all possible material.

What is your next adventure when you finish this project?

If all goes well, we would love to participate in Uniraid again. In addition, there is a Uniraid Europe, in which we would also love to participate.

From Eurotex we support the initiative in order to join and help these young students in a project with a solidarity purpose. The objective is to participate in the repair of theVolkswagen Polo with advice from our experts, and the contribution of materials from Nazza and Eurotex.
