What is a tintometric system?
It is a system for the preparation of coatings and paints composed of different elements that, through the millimetric and precise dosage of various dyes, make it possible to obtain an exact color shade.
How does tintometry work?
A tintometric system is based on a computer system that makes it possible to compose any color from a color chart. It starts from a base paint and, from this, applies dyes according to the volume of paint required. The agitators incorporated in the system ensure that the dyes are uniformly mixed with the base paint to obtain a homogeneous result. This makes it possible to obtain any shade imaginable.
How can color be measured?
Let's say we want an exact color based on a sample we have on paper, for example. Among the possibilities is to compare it with the various samples until you find the one that most closely resembles it.
But the most accurate and operational is to use a spectrophotometer, a small device that detects the color of the surface and transmits it to the system's computer to prepare the indicated shade.
There is also the option of using a colorimeter, a tool capable of capturing hues and shades and capable of making objective color measurements.
This type of equipment (both the spectrophotometer and the colorimeter) greatly facilitates the determination of the color to be manufactured.
