The use of WOLLCITY systems has been crucial for this project.
Three years ago it was announced the construction of a pedestrian walkway in Mairena del Aljarafe linking PISA and Ciudad Expo.
On March 24, the President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Juan Manuel Moreno, inaugurated the cycle-pedestrian walkway that connects the urban center of Mairena del Aljarafe (Seville) with the PISA Business Park, an important business engine for the province as a whole, made up of nearly 700 companies and some 10,000 workers from various towns in the province.
This is an important event since, with the implementation of this new infrastructure, two important points are joined, whose connection until now was only possible on foot, crossing the road. Thus, from today it will also be possible to cross the road by means of a pedestrian footbridge.
What products have been used?
Products belonging to the specific product line of flooring solutions, Wollmon, by Eurotex, have been used to create the interior area of the pedestrian walkway .
Specifically, a WOLLCITY CB pavement was selected, an urban pavement solution specially designed for specially designed urban paving solution for cycle paths, offering high durability with low and which offers high durability with low maintenance costs. It is a micro-rough surfacing, with an average thickness of about 2 mm, obtained by applying a multilayer system on site, applied with a rubber harrow. It offers a continuous, seamless surface, with a non-slip surface texture (class 3 slipperiness) and high resistance to abrasion.
Materials used in the exterior sections of the walkway
WOLLMON W105
In the section over the walkway, where the substrate is concrete, a first coat of WOLLMON W105 two-component epoxy resin was applied to enhance adhesion to the substrate, at a rate of 0.25 kg/m2 with a 0.2-0.4 siliceous aggregate seeding, at a rate of 1.0 kg/m2.
This product is a 64% solids, two component, waterborne epoxy resin. It is mainly used for priming waterborne systems and substrates with up to 8% humidity.
WOLLMON A11
One coat of WOLLMON A11 acrylic mortar was applied at a rate of 1.0 kg/m2 per coat. It is a semi-rough, waterborne, pigmented, acrylic mortar for surface regularization.
WOLLMON A31
It is an acrylic, pigmented, matte, waterborne, acrylic sealing coat for acrylic systems.
The WOLLCITY ASPHALT system has also been applied on sections of the Mairena del Aljarafe area and the Pisa industrial estate (asphalt), approximately 1,000 m2.
WOLLMON A10
This product is a waterborne, synthetic, rough synthetic mortar for chipboard sealing and undercoating of acrylic or acrylic-epoxy systems.
WOLLMON A31
To conclude the work, a final sealing coat of WOLLMON A31 acrylic paint was added at a rate of 0.5 kg/m2.
