Today we want to tell you about a project from last September: the repair of the bike lane in the town of Cariño in A Coruña, a little more than a kilometer long. This municipality is located in the north of the province of Coruña, near Ferrol.
The council decided that this improvement in the bike path was necessary, as it is used by many local residents on a daily basis and hence its wear and tear. The mayor wants to promote with this improvement "a type of sustainable transport and sports practice, in an idyllic setting such as the promenade".
It was in our hands to achieve the perfect result of this great project! The main objective was the repair of the concrete slabs with cracks, to reduce the risk to users, and the replacement of the wearing course, to achieve uniformity throughout the lane. Three Eurotex products were selected for the repair.
What products were used for the repair?
- Delta acrylic floor CB. Paint, based on styrenated acrylic resins, which forms a hard, flexible, impact and wear resistant film, specially formulated for application on asphalt and concrete pedestrian surfaces, for filling and horizontal marking of pedestrian roads without permanent contact with water, where a non-slip surface is desired.
- Durpox Water-based epoxy mortar. Water-based, two-component mortar based on pure epoxy resin free of organic solvents, which allows it to be applied in addition to concrete on asphalt substrates without the risk of bleeding. Its main application is as a coating for interior horizontal surfaces in concrete. For industrial uses (garage floors, workshops, food industry, etc). Also in exteriors (parking lots, urban and sports areas, etc.) as a bridge layer between the concrete support and other finishing coatings.
- Delta Roadtex. Mortar, based on styrenated acrylic resins, which forms a hard, flexible, impact and wear resistant film, specially formulated to be applied directly on asphalt and cement surfaces, for the filling and horizontal marking of sports courts, parking lots and all types of pedestrian roads, where a non-slip surface is desired.
