Main uses
- Film protection for paints, coatings, stuccos, ceilings, coatings, decorative wood stains, adhesives and other industrial applications.
- It is suitable for water-based systems. Products based on algaecide combinations have shown greater efficacy in outdoor exposures than products based on a single algaecide component.
Instructions for use
The environmental situation of the environment where the paint is going to be applied directly affects the durability and effectiveness of the film against mildew. The substrate must be properly treated and sanitized before application. This must be completely dry and free of moisture from seepage or capillarity. All these factors influence the durability and quality of the finish. Suggested use levels are reported as a percentage of the end use product.
Before application:
- Remove loose material and sanitize the surface by mechanical means such as scraping, sanding or using a high pressure washer. Allow to dry.
- If the surface presents problems of stains by humidity or microorganisms, clean the surface with sodium hypochlorite using a natural bristle brush. Allow to dry.
- Repair damages with putty or mortar.
- With the substrate prepared, clean and completely dry, start with the application of the paint treated with the anti-mildew additive following the following proportions:
- Exterior paints and coatings 0.5 - 1.0 %.
- Exterior stuccos 0.3 - 0.5 %.
- Decorative wood coatings 0.5 - 1.0 %.
- Ceiling coatings 1.0 - 2.0 %.
Important: According to EU regulations, the product label is free of symbols up to the following use level: 0.2 %. In warm and humid areas where microorganisms are particularly severe, higher addition levels are suggested. If applied on wood, the product does not change the appearance of the wood, nor does it influence the varnish. It is recommended only for pigmented wood stains.
